Hexagon lock nut made of AISI 304 and AISI 316 stainless steel
All threaded connections lose their reliability over time. This happens as a result of unscrewing the nut, i.e. in its movement in the opposite direction along the axis of the bolt or stud. Nodes that are under the influence of vibration and other mechanical loads are particularly susceptible to unwinding. To prevent this phenomenon, locking with a lock nut is used.
A stainless lock nut is a fastener structurally similar to a conventional nut. As a rule, it is smaller in height and has a reverse thread to counteract the movement of the main nut. Steel lock nuts allow two types of installation: after the main one and before it. In the first case, the main load falls on the joint of the ends of both nuts, in the second - on the lock nut. Due to the redistribution of loads, the strength and reliability of the connection is ensured.
ALFA-STAR offers hexagonal lock nuts made of A2 and A4 steel with internal thread. The products are manufactured according to DIN 2999 standard. They have high strength, precision of execution, corrosion resistance, resistance to aggressive environments, antimagnetic properties and environmental friendliness. A2 version (AISI 304 steel, Russian equivalent 08X18H10) can be used in low- and medium-aggressive environments in the temperature range from -200 to +450 °C. The A4 version (AISI 316 steel, Russian analogue 03H17H12M2) can be used for acidic media of higher concentration, salt solutions, chlorine-containing substances.
