Stainless steel lamb nut
The stainless steel wing nut, or wing nut, is a part in the form of a truncated cone equipped with two high flat protrusions, or wings. They allow you to tighten the threaded connection manually, without using any tool. The shape of a truncated cone with a relatively wide base provides better contact with the mating surface and reduces the specific load, which avoids deformation. The connection obtained with the help of a wing nut does not have such strength and reliability as that mounted with a tool. Therefore, this type of fastener is used in nodes that do not experience significant loads and require frequent disassembly for maintenance. The steel lamb nut is used in the installation of various kinds of hatches, covers, windows, technical doors, frequently disassembled devices, movable joints (for example, tripods) and other devices. A spring washer (grover) can be used to prevent self-unscrewing during assembly.
ALFA-STAR company offers wing nuts in A2 and A4 versions. The first option (AISI 304 food grade anticorrosive steel) is suitable for operation in conditions of high humidity and low and medium degree of environmental aggressiveness. The A4 version (AISI 316 acid-resistant antimagnetic steel) allows the product to be used in aggressive environments: acidic, alkaline, chlorine-containing, seawater.
The wing nuts supplied by us have the following advantages:
- high strength;
- durability;
- wide scope of application. The products are used in mechanical engineering, automotive industry, shipbuilding, instrumentation, furniture and household items;
