Stainless steel cutting disc
The cutting disc is a tool for machine cutting of various materials. It is often used on angle grinders (USM), called grinders in everyday life, or on cutting machines. It is a flat cylinder with a hole in the center. The hole is designed for attachment to the spindle of the cutting machine. The cutting disc (circle) is fixed on the spindle with a special nut. The cutting surface consists of an abrasive material pressed with a binder (ceramics, rubber, bakelite).
Discs designed for cutting materials of different composition and hardness have different compositions. The stainless steel cutting disc has a bunch of bakelite with a strengthening element. Fine-grained white electrocorundum is used as an abrasive. To increase the strength, the product undergoes heat treatment at a temperature of at least 200 ° C. The composition of the stainless steel cutting disc is determined by the requirements of this material:
- the shape of abrasive grains optimal for cutting steel products (white electrocorundum);
- absence of iron, sulfur and chlorine in the abrasive. The presence of these impurities causes heating of the metal and further formation of corrosive areas on the cut. For this reason, it is not recommended to use stainless steel discs designed for cutting ferrous metals.
In our company you can buy a stainless steel cutting disc of the diameter you need. We offer products with the most common nozzle hole size of 22.23 mm and an external diameter ranging from 115 to 230 mm. Smaller discs are designed for use in household USM; 180-230 mm discs are used in industrial metal cutting.
