Stainless steel welding wire
Welding wire performs a dual role in welding technologies:
- replacement of the electrode;
- additive material.
It is a metal thread with a diameter of 0.8 to 3.2 mm from an alloy purified from impurities, often with the addition of alloying components.
As a replacement for the electrode, it serves to create an electric discharge and at the same time to form a welding seam. As an additive, it performs the following tasks:
- improving the quality of the seam;
- acceleration of the welding process;
- reduction of slag formation.
Welding wire is widely used as an additive in argon arc welding using tungsten non-melting electrodes (TIG technology).
Our company offers high-quality stainless steel welding wire produced by the Swedish company Elga. It consists of silicon additives that ensure high seam quality; carbon additives to reduce the risk of intercrystalline corrosion, etc.
We supply welding additives of the following types:
- Cromatig 308LSi and Croimatig 316LSi for argon arc welding;
- Cromamig 308LSi and MIG 316 for semi-automatic welding.
The welding additives offered by us are resistant to general, intercrystalline and chloride pitting corrosion (Croimatig 316 LSi), as well as acid resistance.
The Cromatig 308LSi welding wire is used for welding stainless steels of the AISI 304L type with a low carbon content, as well as carbon steels and steels with niobium or titanium additives.
The additive Croimatig 316LSi is used for welding high-alloy steels of the AISI 316L type, operated in aggressive environments (acids) at a temperature range from -196 to 350 °C.
Cromatig additives are available in a diameter range from 1 to 3.2 mm in coils with a thread length of 1000 mm.
Cromamig 308LSi welding wire, as well as Cromatig 308LSi, is used for welding chromium-nickel steels (AISI 304L)and austenitic stainless steels, as well as medium carbon (AISI 304) and steels with nickel and niobium additives.
The MIG 316 additive is designed for welding austenitic stainless steels of the AISI 316 type.
Additives for semi-automatic welding are offered in the diameter range from 0.8 to 1.2 mm in Euro cassettes weighing 5 and 15 kg.
